INTERNSHIPS
The Degree in Tourism at the University of Zaragoza offers students the opportunity to undertake internships in companies starting from the first year. These experiences bring students closer to the professional world, prepare them for real-world practice, and help them explore potential career paths. From the very beginning, students gain valuable experience that enhances their employability and facilitates access to high-quality positions.
Internships strengthen students’ competitiveness and support an early and solid entry into the job market. Three types of internships are available, all carried out in organizations that have agreements with the Zaragoza University School of Tourism.
Extracurricular Internships (from 1st year)
These are optional but highly recommended internships that allow students to combine academic learning with professional experience from the very beginning. They enable students to gradually acquire skills and gain exposure to real working environments from their first year. Although they are not graded in the official academic transcript, they add significant value in terms of employability.
Curricular Internships (from the summer after the third year).
This is a compulsory 18 ECTS subject taken in the fourth year. However, it can be completed during the summer following the third year, in various locations across Spain, including coastal areas and islands. These internships are officially graded and appear on the academic transcript. They are supervised by both a company tutor and a university tutor, ensuring quality training and proper follow-up.
Work Placement Abroad (from the summer after the third year)
This is an optional 9 ECTS subject in the fourth year that allows students to gain international professional experience, travel, and improve their language skills. The procedure is the same as for curricular internships, and the placement is officially recorded on the academic transcript. Students are supervised by both a company tutor and a university tutor.
